Frozen Peanut Butter Banana Bites
Prep time: 5 minutes
Freeze time: 1 hour
Servings: 24 bites
INGREDIENTS
- 2 bananas
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
DIRECTIONS
- Prepare a mini muffin pan with mini muffin liners.
- Slice two bananas into ¼-1/2 inch slices.
- Place one banana slice in each muffin liner.
- Pour a teaspoon or so of peanut butter over each banana slice.
- Freeze for at least 1 hour or until completely frozen.
- As always, be sure to read the notes below for advice on ingredients, substitutions, storage and more.
NOTES
- If your peanut butter is too firm, microwave a few large spoonfuls for 30 seconds to make it easier to pour.
- Feel free to substitute peanut butter for any nut butter of your choice. Almond butter or cashew butter are both great alternatives.
- Give the pan a few shakes back and forth to even out the peanut butter and completely coat each banana slice.
- Chocolate is a good friend of both peanut butter and banana, so if your kids like chocolate you can drizzle melted chocolate on top before freezing, or dip each frozen cup into melted chocolate and refreeze.
- You can store these in the freezer for a very long time, I can’t say how long exactly as these go quickly in my house!
